Dead Until Someone Wishes Life Upon Us

The irony of the previous post was just too great to ignore... In case you haven't heard by word of [bad]mouth, I am taking the time to digitally post the news here, on this unknown blog of ours. Badmouth as a band is done. And no, the dwindling fan base at our recent shows isn't the cause. There is some internal drama currently going on between members, which I won't get into for their personal reasons. It saddens me to say if the timing of this conflict would have come while we were riding our peak in 2009, we would have probably worked something out. However, in our current state of a dying scene and separating personal interests, it just can't be done. There won't be any last shows, at least not in the near future if ever, so take a second to look back at that previous ironic post and think of it as our last appearance. On a personal note, I view that night as a last show. It felt refreshing to see people actually enjoying our music again. It's been a long time since I've had that experience.

With that basis covered, I want to thank everyone that has ever helped this band in any way. Whether that be from booking us, to playing with us, to getting us tattooed on your body, to even just going to and watching us play a show... Thank-you. Specific thanks to the bands that helped us along, as it seems we always have been a duo band:
-Brainfreeze- AKA Brainmouth. Got this band on the right foot. Noticed in West Covina, and some of my favorite shows I've ever played.
-DCOI. Took us in under their roof while playing in Orangevale CA, and provided hope that we can actually make an impression outside of our local scene.
-Amongst Wolves. 5626 connection. Meeting you guys not only expanded our popularity 10 fold, but we all made some friendships that we truly cherish.
-Suedehead- AKA Suedemouth. A simple combination of the Whittier and West Covina friendships, but music that ruled hard and vibed well with us. The La Habra garage will not be forgotten.
-Off Track. Booking us at The Blvd obviously was a huge part in getting us the little notoriety we received, and probably even our peak performance at S&F. Not to mention Cali Uber Alles was one of my favorite shows specifically.
-Burn Idols. Our potential tour mates, who we flaked on. You guys were down for any and every show.
-A Nation Sleeps. I might be biased here, but I feel in our dying days you were what kept us going. As individuals supporting our band, and being gracious in your booking, we are grateful.

There are other bands which had potential of making a lasting impression (Altered State, Deadhead, The Kingsford Run, etc.) however our overall level of sketch was just too much to handle.

Please check out the other bands in which our members are currently apart of. These are the main ones I can think of, and should still be currently making music.

Ruptures (Mikey)
Lonely Hearts Club (Sergio)
Little Bear (John & Andy)
La Bella (John & Andy)
Wilderness (Andy)
A Nation Sleeps (Spenser)

That is all I have to say. Goodbye all, it has been an amazing experience for me.

What's Up?

What's up & shit & shit?
We played a really fun gig last night in La Puente-good ol' bridge town- & our good friend by the name of s'Alexander snapped a few shots & posted them on his Flickr. I believe there is a few from Monday's gig at The Blvd also so save that shit to your computer & jack off to us when you're horny later.

Also we'll be playing a gig tomorrow with our buddies in The Kingsford Run & Slave along with Owen Hart, Xibalba, Deaf Haven, Residuals & if i'm not mistaken I believe that's it. If you're in the valley area try making your way to Cobalt Cafe to chill & watch a couple rad bands.

Smoke weed.
Put on your headphones.

Zone the fuck out.

Yesternight

Our apologies for last nights failed attempt. The owners of the house opted that we push the gig back a week & since we really can't say "No, fuck you we're playing in your living room whether you like it or not" we said "Yo dog no worries that's fuckin chell & shit". Therefore, we apologize if you made or dropped plans to come & attend, but know that it is not pushed back to next week will be fun as shit & WE ARE PLAYING TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

Ghosts (_____)

1) Holes
Out comes the sun I'm on the wrong side of the bed.
In my head this rain will never end.
There's treats for all, but I keep getting tricked.
I wish I would have never woke up today.

Stare out my window the sky is falling down.
Restricted by fear-No sudden actions or sound.
Mutes we have plenty-made of bone wrapped in flesh.
They carry red roses, but lack the affection.

Impatiently waiting in the lost & found.
I try to smile, but pleasure is never around.
I can't help, but feel a bit indifferent.
No one cares to serve the servants.

I can't believe anything I've said.
Nothing serves to mend the holes in my head.

2) Mr. Moustache (Silent Weapons)
Tools of oppression compliantly accepted to use & abuse the mentally vacant.

For scores of years your people will have served as slaves & no one will remember the cause that you died for.

3) Seeds
Harvest of the fools.
Murders of the mind.

Diagnosis : Dead Mass. Mind Control. She's lost control. We've lost control.

We're bullied in our dreams, but the pain is all the same.
You can paint a pretty picture, but it hangs in ugly frames.
So we save for rainy days pushing concrete with our feet-dejected by all reality.

Keep your eyes on your mouth for the walls have ears.
Make your way through the maze your reward is cheese.

4) June's Gloom
April showers brought May flowers, but I've been stuck in June's Gloom.
Ignoring the violence. Enjoying the silence.
Pockets full of sunshine, but nothing will be alright.

I'm overflowing with nothing.

Been post-blue & lacking all feeling, yet this is nothing new.
Comfortably numb. I feel so fucking dumb.
Been faking my dreams now nothing is what it seems.
Spoke to my ego shared a few thoughts it only had one thing to say to me...

"let me down...like you let me down before"

5) Bleach Me
Lay me down. Put me to rest.
Sleeping lessons is what I need.
Between heart ache & "make or break" there's not much more that I can fake.
I'm just the ghost of my former self. I can't relate to anyone else.
Now I'm paralyzed & I apologize, but it seems I forgot to take my meds.

Brought an end to my ideals. Been defined as all that's less.
It's a pity my expectations & reality will never meet.

Always known as second best still you found no love with all the rest.
I'm way to broke to even fix. An introvert the spawn of sin.
Neither friend or foe I stand alone-freezing cold.
A bone machine I can only live unclean.

I think it's time we all come clean.
We can fucking start with me.

Bleach me.

We're Sorry for 2010

Many promises were made last year: A new full length release, a west-coast based tour, and new merch with virtually none of it being delivered. While there is a box of new shirts just sitting in my room, they have never made there way onto the web store because they were meant to go hand in hand with new music. Which brings me to the cause of this post... Yes, we have new music. And because it has been so long since you have heard any new recorded material from us (over a year and a half) I feel we owe it to you to make it free. So click the link below, download our new tunes, and start going to shows again. I know that we are all a little guilty of drifting away from a scene that we once cared so much about. Hopefully we can put 2010, along with the drug and alcohol induced musical withdrawl, into the depths of our subconcious; and find a way to crawl out of the self defeating hole we have found our selves in.

Blogspot Taking Over

Seeing as the social network of myspace no longer has any foot traffic, this website is becoming our means of getting in contact with you, that is if any of you still exist. Sorry for the extreme lag, but did you honestly expect anything different? As much as we hate to admit it, everyone of us knows this band doesn't have the most serious reputation.

As far as updates go, here is a short list of what to expect in the future (I would say near future, but that would only make our aspirations take even longer).

1. This will become our new myspace... Hopefully all shows/fliers/music/etc. will be handled through this website, as well as badmouth.blogspot.com

2. The albulm we promised you is still in the works. Six tracks are completed start to finish, and there are only five more we continue to work on. As soon as they are done, we will record and put out that release we have been talking about for the last year.

3. We have new merch. Some of which have been at our last shows, however they are not on badmouth.bigcartel.com yet. This is because we were hoping to release the albulm and merch together, but plans might change soon if the albulm is continually taking forever.

Thanks for taking time to read this, we appreciate it, especially with the amount of nothing we have been putting out. This albulm has been the bands main focus, and that has made shows and our progression inevitably slow down. Check back periodically, as updates are random.

April 3rd & 4th

4/3 - We played a last minute gig for a few friends of ours in a cool little practice studio room. The sound was way sick. Thanks for Phillip for allowing us to play & hang out.

4/4 - Such a fun show. It was in a garage in La Habra. We were gonna split a set with Brainfreeze, but their singer had a little too much to drink (hahaha). Suedehead went second and had a sick crowd reaction. We went after and did our thing. Shit was super fun. I'd post some pictures but they just look stupid. If you want you can check them out here. Please forgive me for the lack of effort in this post. I'm really tired & sleepy.

Updates

The show we just played on Thursday Feb. 26th was so much fun. Hectic and very stressful, but fun. First & foremost thanks to everyone of our friends that came to hangout and chill. Second, I'd like to apologize to everyone who came out and couldn't make it in to the show. From what I understand the people working the door and the security were being complete asshole and not letting kids in or notifying them that the club had reached it's capacity allowing traffic to build up on outside or until they were bribed. Our set was a whole lot of fun. We had some equipment malfunctions. Mikey had some guitar head trouble, while Tomba and I both got shocked by guitar/microphone. Deadhead's set was awesome as well. Thanks to Righteous Photography for the pics, here a few pictures from the gig:

You can see the rest of the pictures here. We've got another gig coming up with our buddies in Suedehead and a few other cool bands. It'll be on Sunday March 15th.

After that our next gig will be on April 4th in Arcadia with Suedehead, Deadhead & Moldar. Other than that we'll be chillin/writing some new songs.

22-February.

Fridays show was not a success. In fact, not even half of the bands had the chance to play. The cops showed up during the Wilderness set around 9:30p.m., which sucked for them and all the other bands who were still left to play (about 7 bands). They called the owner of the house prior to showing up & threatened them with a 300 fine. They We tried moving the show to another location, but no one would allow us. Sadly, no kids got their cash back.

Saturdays show was the same set up. It was an 11 band show that was supposed to start early, but low & behold IT STARTED LATE & THE COPS SHOWED UP AGAIN! Word was the owner of the house had a permit so all the bands were under the impression that we/they would get to play. Lies spread like wildfire. Anyway, long story short, shitty situation got fixed as we moved the backyard gig to a garage in West Covina with all our best friends! It was amazing to say the least amount of words. We borrowed Deadhead's equipment (thanks guys) & went after them. The show was tons of fun & really embodied what we believe true hardcore punk should be. Thanks to everyone who went to the Whittier house & came to the West Covina garage after. We play again this Thursday with Deadhead. Should be a fun night!
